Our Current Projects

So many great things happening here…

Here at Futures Isle, we are excited to be working on meaningful, exciting projects. Alongside, Entrepreneurship Facilitators and Local Jobs Program, below you can read about some of the other large projects that we are working on. We also have other interesting ad-hoc projects and events including school workshops, impact consulting and regional development occurring frequently, to find out more about these, follow our adventures on Facebook.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)

ABC Trailblazers: Young regional change makers aged 18-28 showcasing their stories and growing their impact through ongoing mentoring and support. These young people are championing projects that make regional Australia a better place and are focused on everything from sustainable agriculture, mental health support, remote robotics classes, cultural education and so much more. Taz and Em have had the honour of working with Trailblazer cohorts for the past 3 years.

Heywire: Open to people aged 16-22, living in regional or rural Australia. Heywire encourages young people to tell stories about their life outside the major cities. Over the past 23 years, more than 11,500 young Australians have taken part. Taz and Em have loved facilitating Heywire online sessions and working to help spread these amazing stories to as many people as possible.

Takeover: Amplifying the voices of young people aged 12-18, this place-based program began during the pandemic. Takeover has become a beautiful platform for winners of this storytelling competition to connect online, network with community and build confidence in sharing their stories. Futures Isle have loved facilitating every version of this program so far, whether in-person, online or hybrid. Takeover Shepparton was also Rohit’s first experience with an ABC program and he will tell you himself that is was super special!

The Sally Foundation

Trailblazers Expansion: Working in collaboration with the excellent Geraldine and Mike Roche from The Sally Foundation and the Trailblazer Impact Network, Taz and Em have been running the Trailblazer expansion for almost 2 years. This expansion, that has been generously provided by The Sally Foundation, means that all Trailblazers are provided with ongoing support, funding opportunities and mentoring to grow their skills, projects and ultimately, impact.

The National Careers Institute

Australian Training Awards Finalist Development: The Australian Training Awards recognise and celebrate excellence and are an important mechanism for promoting the benefits of vocational education and training. Winners from each state and territory training awards compete for a national award title. During this process, Futures Isle works with the finalists to provide them an opportunity to network, connect, up-skill, learn and development their personal brand through intensive workshops and interactive sessions.

The Beacon Foundation

High Impact Programs (HIP) and Growth Industry Preparation Program (GrIPP): Beacon’s series of half and one-day work readiness programs boost employability skills and build real-life connections to the world of work for young people in years 7 –12.  Programs are designed to ensure young people feel more confident and prepared for their transition from education into the workforce. Taz and Em have been facilitators across Australia for these programs for years and have loved seeing the impact it has on confidence around future pathways.
