Our Past Projects

In the past two years…

The Futures Isle team have worked on some really cool projects that we will never forget and have learnt so much from.

These are just a few of the awesome things that we have contributed to:

  • The Beacon Foundation: Industry Live - Online workshops that connect young people with the world of work through Q & A sessions and chats with experts in varying fields. Em and Taz have loved hosting several of these impactful events.

  • The Department of Education Tasmania: Youth Enterprise Program - Taz and Em loved working with a super passionate team to act as subject matter experts in the development of a practical, engaging in-school subject that focuses on providing real-world enterprise skills.

You can read about some of our other past projects below.

Collective.ed Sorell and the Festival of Ideas

Futures Isle worked alongside the incredible local team, stakeholders, teachers, community leaders and over 50 students through a Collective Impact school project to run and organise the iconic Festival of Ideas. Festival of Ideas was a celebration of youth voice, action and creativity that attracted hundreds of attendees. We also provided project support, advice and resources particularly with the young people as they drove social change projects for their region.

Royal Flying Doctors Service Scholarships

Futures Isle worked with the 2021 Tasmanian Scholarship Recipients to interview and create documented video experiences from their placements across Australia. Futures Isle then turned these stories into a 1 hour hybrid celebration presentation that was hosted by Em at the University of Tasmania and to an online audience.

Indigenous Business Supply Project

In partnership with University of Tasmania, National Indigenous Australians Agency, Supply Nation, Indigenous Business Australia and the wonderful Greg Murray from Kooparoona Niara Tours. The combined group worked together to create a comprehensive database of Tasmanian Aboriginal owned businesses. Futures Isle also prepared a summary report, recommendations for further collaboration/opportunities and findings from discussions with business owners about ways to provide better support.
